You've received an opportunity on your dashboard, and you're now wondering what the next steps are in order to convert it into a long term client.

This article will guide you through all the steps to follow in order to get there.

🤔 Assessing the opportunity

We've qualified the opportunity before it gets sent to your dashboard. However, we do recommend that you give it a look to make sure it really fits what you're looking for.

Consider:

  • The scope of the project,

  • The client's budget,

  • The completion of the briefing,

  • Your capacity to really help the client reach his goal (the more you do, the more chance you'll have to win the project).

If you consider the opportunity is a good fit, it's time to apply to it.

✅ Apply to the opportunity

The first step, once you've received and assessed an opportunity, is to apply to it.

Applying is necessary in order to be able to:

  • See the project holder's contact details,

  • See the company's details,

  • See the project holder's contact preferences.

Know that applying will cost a certain price, which will be debited from the monthly budget you've set. The price of an opportunity depends on various factors, explained in this article.

📞 Contact the opportunity

Once you've applied, you'll be able to see all the project's details but you'll also see all the contact details of the project holder.

Based on the preferences he shared (if he did share some), you could contact the project holder:

  • On his email,

  • On his phone number,

  • On his LinkedIn.

At this stage, the goal for you is to set up a first meeting, in order to meet the client and see if you're a good fit.

Read this article to learn how to sell a first meeting.

If the project holder shared his availabilities, you could also directly book a meeting in his agenda through Sortlist.

📅 Set up a meeting

Sometimes, project holders are sharing when they can meet agencies. If they do, we take into account their availabilities for you to know when you can book a meeting with them.

⚙️ Optimize your profile

Finally, once you've set that meeting, make sure your Sortlist public profile is up to date, active, with good client reviews and a complete portfolio.

Whether it is before or after your meeting, the client will want to know more about your agency. To do so, they will give a look at your profile, so make sure it's convincing.

We give more details in this article, where we explain the importance of positioning yourself very cleary in order to convince the clients you target more easily.

🥂 Start the collaboration

Finally, if everything goes well, you should end up signing the client and start a new collaboration. Furthermore, once you've completed the project, don't forget to ask the client for a review to power up your Sortlist profile even more.

Go to your dashboard, click on "Profile > Reviews", and then "Invite to review" in order to do it.

What to do if I can't get in touch with an opportunity?

If you've contacted an opportunity and didn't get a reply, you might consider asking for a refund. We give more details as to how making a refund request in this article.
