How and when are you able to see the contact details of an opportunity?

When you're exploring new business opportunities on Sortlist, timing and communication are key. That’s why we make it easy for you to connect with prospects as soon as you apply. Below, you’ll find a quick summary and answers to common questions about how contact details are shared, so you can follow up confidently and move your projects forward.

TL;DR

You get access to a client’s contact details:

Immediately after submitting your application
⛔️ Never if the opportunity was removed or closed before your application was submitted

💡 What contact information do I receive after applying?

As soon as you submit your application, you gain full access to:

  • Full name: Personalize your outreach with confidence

  • LinkedIn profile: View their professional background and network

  • Preferred contact method: Know how they prefer to be contacted

  • Phone number or meeting link: Follow up directly

You’ll also benefit from:

  • Chat activation: You can message the client right away via Sortlist chat

  • Calendar event: A meeting placeholder will be added to your calendar, updated if interest is confirmed

  • Email notification: You’ll receive a confirmation email including the contact details

⚠️ Not seeing the contact details?
Double-check that your application was fully completed. Contact details are only shared once the application has been properly sent, incomplete applications won’t unlock access.

❌ What happens if the prospect rejects my application?

If the client rejects your application:

  • You keep access to the contact details that were shared when you applied

  • You’ll get an email notification informing you of the rejection

  • You can request a credit refund, but only if you can demonstrate that you were unable to reach the client after receiving their contact details (e.g., invalid email or no response after multiple attempts). Learn more about refunds here.

🤷‍♀️ What if the prospect doesn’t respond at all?

No need to wait, you already have the contact information. You can follow up directly using their preferred method or through Sortlist chat.

Meanwhile:

  • Prospects are automatically reminded to review the applications they receive

  • You’ll also see reminders and system messages to support your follow-up process

🛑 Are there any cases where I don’t get contact details?

Yes. You won’t receive any contact details if the opportunity was removed or closed before your application was submitted.
