What is a Live Profile?

Live Profiles are part of Sortlist’s ongoing effort to raise the quality and trust of our marketplace. A profile is considered "live" when it meets a set of criteria designed to ensure transparency, professionalism, and reliability for both clients and agencies.

If your profile is not live, it won't appear in client directories or search results. This means potential clients will not be able to find, shortlist, or contact your agency.

A Live Profile shows:

  • You’re active and reachable

  • Your agency is ready to be discovered and trusted

  • You can receive direct call requests and be shortlisted

We want clients to find partners they can trust. And we want agencies like yours to stand out, not compete with incomplete or inactive listings.


How to make sure your profile is live

Your dashboard is your go-to place. It shows exactly what’s missing, what needs updating, and guides you step by step to meet the Live Profile standard.

To go live, your profile should include:

  • A company logo

  • A cover image

  • A clear description of your agency

  • At least one published case study or project

  • Connected social media profiles

  • A verified phone number (new requirement)


Verifying your phone number 📞

This is a crucial step in making your profile live.

Why it matters:

  • Confirms you're a real, reachable provider

  • Blocks spam and protects clients from fake listings

  • Unlocks direct call requests from potential clients

  • Helps improve your ranking in search results

How to verify your phone number: You have two options:

  1. Mobile number: Receive an SMS and enter the code

  2. Company landline: Receive an automated phone call to confirm

To start:

  1. Go to your Dashboard ➔ Contact section

  2. Click "Verify phone number"

  3. Choose SMS or phone call verification

Profile Validation Issues

Q: What should I do if I experience validation problems due to duplicate information?

A: Validation might be blocked if the same email address, phone number, or website is associated with another profile. To resolve this:

  1. Check if you have another account with overlapping contact details.

  2. Update or delete the duplicate account to make your profile details unique.

Profile Visibility/Live Status Issues

Q: How do I verify that my profile is live?

A: Check if your profile is live by finding the link associated with your agency name in your Sortlist account. Clicking the link should display your live profile on the platform.

Q: What happens if my profile isn't live?
A: Your profile won't appear in client searches or Sortlist directories. You also won’t receive invitations or messages until it's live again.

Q: Can I still stay live if only the phone number is missing?
A: No. Phone verification is now required to stay visible and to unlock certain contact features like direct calls.

Q: Will I lose my reviews or past activity if I'm unpublished?
A: No. Your content remains intact. Once you complete your profile, it goes back online as normal.

Q: How long does it take to meet the live standard?
A: Most agencies complete it in under 10 minutes. Your dashboard highlights exactly what’s left.

Q: I want to update my phone number before validating it, but the validate link disappears.

A: Remember to click on the top right "Save" button to save a new phone number. Once it's saved, the "validate" link will appear again.
