Understanding Radar

What Radar is, and how it turns profile and website visits into company leads.

Written by Kevin Boyer

Radar shows you which companies are showing interest in your agency, and, where available, the decision-makers to contact, so you can reach out directly.

The two sources Radar tracks

Sortlist visitors. Companies that viewed your Sortlist profile, or browsed agencies and services like yours on Sortlist. These are businesses actively researching providers.

Website visitors. Companies that visited your own website, once you have installed the Radar tracking snippet. See Install the snippet.

How Radar works

  1. A company visits.
Someone from a business visits your Sortlist profile or your website.

  2. Radar identifies the company.
It matches the visit to a company, not to the individual person browsing, using the visitor's network. Visits from home or mobile networks cannot be matched to a company and are not shown.

  3. Radar enriches it.
Each identified company is completed with details such as industry, company size, revenue band, and location. For companies with verified contact information, Radar also provides decision-makers at that company, with their role and professional contact details. Contacts are shown only when verified, so not every company includes them.

  4. Radar scores the engagement.
Every visit gets an engagement level of High, Medium, or Low, based on how active the company was (e.g. pages viewed, time spent).

  5. You take action.
Filter and sort your visitors, export the companies, or reach out. See Using your dashboard, Exporting leads and Contact leads with Overloop.

What Radar is not

Radar is not a standard inbound tool that waits for form-fills. It surfaces companies that have shown interest but have not contacted you yet, so acting on them takes a deliberate outreach step. Radar also does not identify every visitor: only a share of visits can be matched to a company.

Getting started

  1. Open Radar in your Sortlist agency account. The first time, a short walkthrough introduces Radar and its two sources.

  2. Set a monthly limit for each source you want to use: Sortlist visitors and Website visitors. Each identified company uses 0.25 credit from your Sortlist balance. Leaving a source at 0 keeps it off.

  3. If you set a limit for Website visitors, install the tracking snippet on your site. Sortlist visitors needs no snippet. See Install the snippet.

  4. Radar starts identifying companies. Review them in the dashboard, and adjust or pause either source at any time.
