Sortlist providers

Who the providers on Sortlist are, how they are matched to your project, and what to look at when comparing them.

Written by Lucy Sitraka Andriantiana

Sortlist works with over 100,000 providers in more than 180 countries, from small studios to large networks, across many expertises and industries.

How they are matched to your project

When you send your brief, we compare what you need against provider profiles: their expertise, the languages they work in, where they are based, your budget range, and the work they have delivered.

The closest fits are contacted first, in waves, and more providers are invited if your project needs them. Providers then decide for themselves whether to apply, and they pay a fee to do so. That is what keeps your list short and relevant, because a provider only applies when they believe they can win the work. You receive up to 4 applications.

How to compare the ones that apply

Each application gives you the provider's profile, examples of their past work, and reviews from clients who worked with them. Two things are worth a close look:

  • Their rating and reviews, which come from clients who worked with them through Sortlist

  • The Trusted Partner badge, if they have one: Sortlist has checked their account, so they can be trusted
