Deactivating or deleting an agency account

How agency profile deactivation and deletion work on Sortlist, what happens to your personal data, and how to make a request.

Written by Anna Ralon

Can I remove my agency from Sortlist?

Sortlist is a transparent marketplace, and agency profiles are shaped in part by reviews from real clients. For that reason, we generally don't remove agency profiles on request.

Under our Terms & Conditions, an agency profile may be deactivated only after verified cessation of business activity, such as bankruptcy or a formal business closure. Deactivation requests based on negative reviews will, in principle, not be honoured.

Deactivate vs. delete: what's the difference?

  • Deactivation means your public profile is taken offline and no longer appears on Sortlist.

  • Deletion means everything is permanently removed from the platform. You lose all access and would need to create a new account from scratch. This is exceptional and not the standard outcome, such as in the case where a business has closed.

What about my personal data?

Separately from your agency profile, you can ask us to remove your personal data. We will delete your personal information, remove you from the agency's admin list, and make sure you're no longer contacted through the platform.

How to make a request

Agencies can't deactivate or delete an account directly. Contact our team, and we'll handle verified requests:

Please include your agency name and the reason for your request so we can verify.
