This guide explains how to connect Sortlist to WhatsApp using Zapier, so that you receive automatic notifications when new opportunities appear.

Sortlist – Connect your Sortlist account so Zapier can pull opportunity data.

WhatsApp Notifications – Connect the WhatsApp number where you want to receive alerts.

- You’ll see it under App: WhatsApp Notifications.
- Make sure the correct number is connected.

🔧 Step 3. Configure the WhatsApp Message

Choose the template – Select the pre-approved WhatsApp message template (for example: <code>New Message</code> or <code>message_reminder</code>).

- Name → A short title, e.g. <code>New Sortlist opportunity</code>. (Keep it simple, no line breaks or extra words)
- Link to reply → Map the <code>Opportunity Link</code> from Sortlist. This must be a valid URL (e.g., <code>https://app.sortlist.com/opportunities/12345</code>).

1. Choose the template – Select the pre-approved WhatsApp message template (for example: <code>New Message</code> or <code>message_reminder</code>).
 
 
2. Fill in variables:
 - Name → A short title, e.g. <code>New Sortlist opportunity</code>. (Keep it simple, no line breaks or extra words)
 - Link to reply → Map the <code>Opportunity Link</code> from Sortlist. This must be a valid URL (e.g., <code>https://app.sortlist.com/opportunities/12345</code>).

The URL must start with <code>https://</code>.

The name field must stay under 1,024 characters.

Click Test &amp; Review in Zapier.

You should see the WhatsApp message preview.

- If you get an error like “Invalid parameter provided to WhatsApp API”:
 - Refresh the fields (three dots → Refresh fields).
 - Re-enter a simple <code>Name</code> (e.g. <code>Sortlist</code>).
 - Check the URL formatting.

2. You should see the WhatsApp message preview.

You’re done 🎉 – you’ll now get a WhatsApp notification every time a new Sortlist opportunity is created.
