Just like in the “dating” industry, the art of matchmaking is clearly not a straightforward one. You have to listen carefully to each person’s desires, determine precisely both parties in place and make sure it’s a “fit”. As open, expert middlemen we have extensive knowledge of “matching” indicators and we can do everything necessary to make sure your relationship thrives in the best conditions possible.

However, because we cannot control emotions, we cannot force two parties to love each other. These few lines will describe our vision of things.

A human process:

Unlike many solutions already available on the market, we grant a huge importance to the quality and “human” follow-up of projects. Here is the path of a project manager using our platform:

1. Posting the project

Sortlist’s goal is to help companies concentrate on what they do best: developing their activity. Surrounding themselves with the most qualified and appropriate contractors shouldn’t slow down their development.

This is why posting a project on Sortlist is very simple, doesn’t require any technical skill and is cost-free for all companies.

2. Validating the project

Once the project is posted, Sortlist’s version of matchmaking can begin. In less than 3 minutes, a Sortlist team member is responsible for contacting the project manager.

Over the last 12 months, at least 3000 project managers were contacted, listened to and advised by telephone thanks to Sortlist. And this took place all over the world: Belgium, France, United States, United Kingdom, Italy, Spain and in Asian and Latin American countries.

3. Writing and validating the briefing

Once the conversation with the project manager is over, that we’ve understood perfectly the needs of the company and made sure we could (or couldn’t) help them find the best contractors in their field, we begin writing the briefing if the project is validated.

Next, we send the most complete briefing possible to the client so he can validate it – we let you be the judge of that with the following example:

Furthermore, in case we’re not sure of the budget, we make sure to write down the difference between the client’s and our team’s estimated budget. Please note that when we write a pre-briefing the indicated budgets are always an estimation and may vary based on what is exactly decided with the agency, what they will cover and will always be subject to modifications.

4. Choosing and contacting the appropriate agencies

Today, choosing an agency isn’t easy. The agency landscape has greatly evolved with the digital wave: the number of actors and their expertise has really increased, so much so that even the industry experts cannot clearly evaluate who is leader in the market.

We only work with the best agencies who have been identified and chosen by experts.

In order to do so, we have to be thoughtful and methodical when we evaluate the most appropriate agencies. As described on our English blog not long ago – you have to take into account several criteria:

1) Core skills of the agency (Advertising, Digital Strategy, Mobile Applications, Web Design, etc…)

2) The agency’s previous works and clients (Client, Industry, Skills…)

3) Positioning (Full-Service vs. Specialized, Digital vs. Offline)

4) Certifications – Awards

5) Agency localization (Are project managers looking for agencies in the same city, country or remote?)

6. RFI: Request for Information

At this point, the project manager seeks information on your agency and will thus check :

  1. Your first message (check here how to write the very first message)

  2. Your Sortlist profile as well as your works, reviews, endorsements, … (check here for the best practices to optimize your profile and here is an example of a well-optimized profile)

  3. Your website, social media …

Then, he will answer your message to plan the first meeting (phone call, Video conference, Face-to-face…) if he’s interested in your agency.
